Knee jerk post

I just saw a commercial on a new design for knee replacement.

On television.

Knee replacement.

How popular are knee replacements when a company is advertising on television?  And what are we doing to our knees that we now have commercials - prime time commercials - on knee replacement surgery?!

  1. I'm going to post a comment on this. I've had bad knees for a very long time, and it has been mentioned that I am a good candidate for knee replacements. This year I decided to take control of it and make the effort to deal with it.

I've had some physical therapy, and was also given some exercises to do daily; and of course, there's Tai Chi!!! Guess what? My knees are not nearly as painful. I could always walk pain-free, that wasn't the problem, but the pain that comes in other ways, is much better. I'm not completely there yet, but I am on my way.

I think a lot of surgeries are an easy way out. When ads like this are on TV, it puts an idea in people's minds. In France TV ads for drugs and other medical issues, are forbidden!

  2. Interesting JP...I didn't know France forbade ads for medical issues. I wonder how the rest of the world's broadcasting deals with medical commercials.
